Birthday presents

I got a lot of very nice gifts for my birthday. My husband surprised me with a 4 day 3 night trip to Vegas. My son and daughter-in-law brought back a pearl and cord multi-strand necklace from Costa Rica. My daughter and youngest son took me to the Tim McGraw, Faith Hill concert (yes I like country music), my best friends at work sent me flowers and chocolates -- at work, and that made me feel very special, my mother-in-law gave me a Michael Kors bag. But this is about what I found in my family room when I came home last night.

For months I have covetted a particular Bernina sewing machine. I nearly suckered my husband into agreeing to its purchase last summer -- until he found out the cost. I talked to my Mom, my kids, etc. Last night, in the family room of my house there were two boxes from the local fabric store. My mother and brothers had sent me the sewing machine of my dreams! I absolutely can't believe it. It can sew by itself -- really, it can! I barely had a chance to try it last night, that's another story, but I can't wait to see what I can do with it.

The embroidery module hooks up to a laptop. For now, I guess I will use my laptop from work, but eventually I will have to get one of my own. Don't think it needs anything too powerful, but I will have to see.

I am so incredibly excited. I just can't believe it.
